This one day workshop will cover character, voice, structure, research, ethics and dramatic storytelling, and ask the vital question - how can writers remain truthful to their source material while creating engaging and theatrical work?
Participants will be encouraged to bring their own ideas, contribute to discussions and take part in writing exercises designed to develop material throughout the day.
The workshop is lead by BAFTA winning writer Owen Thomas (Grav, The Wood, Carwyn, Benny), who has spent his career writing acclaimed plays inspired by real lives and events.
Whether you're an experienced writer, a theatre-maker, or simply fascinated by the stories hidden in everyday life, this interactive masterclass will provide practical tools and fresh inspiration for turning reality into drama.
The workshop takes place at Makers’ House Hastings on Thursday 17th September from 10am - 6pm.
