The Work Room is a dedicated space for mid-career actors to take back some control over their craft—and reconnect with the reason they do it.

Practise, hone, collaborate and play alongside other actors. Meet, create and keep your head in the game.

Led by the hugely experienced actor and teacher Chris New, you'll explore a wide variety of rehearsal processes, deepening every aspect of your craft. The Work Room is a regular place to experiment, take risks, rehearse and grow—without the pressure of having to get it right first time. At the end of the year, you'll have the opportunity to share your work with an invited audience of industry professionals and peers.

Chris says:

"In our industry, actors often spend more time waiting for auditions than rehearsing. The Work Room provides the regular practice that will keep your craft alive.”

From September, The Work Room will meet in London every fortnight. Across the year, you'll work as part of a committed ensemble, exploring a range of texts and approaches while building the confidence, curiosity and resilience that sustain a long-term acting career.

Join us for a Taster Day

On 19 July at the Omnibus Theatre in Clapham, experience the Work Room, discuss how it can support you and meet Chris.

The day runs from 10am–4pm and costs £15.

Applications for the Autumn Work Room term will open over the summer and will simply require sending us your CV and a link to an example of your work. If you require more information, or you’d like to express your interest, please email here.
