Frequently Asked Questions

What is the ‘Returning Practice’ Fee?

We deeply value the sense of community that grows within each class and truly enjoy staying connected with those we’ve worked alongside. With that in mind, if you’ve attended the class before and there are spots available, we’re happy to offer you a generous discount if you would like to repeat the class. It’s a wonderful chance to meet new people, continue practicing your skills, and build on what you’ve learned. After all, no two classes here are ever quite the same.

Do you offer private tuition?

Yes, both Liz and Chris are very experienced private tutors. They can tailor a training offer that matches your requirements. To discuss what you need and how Chris and Liz might help you email.

What happens if I need to cancel my class booking?

If you have signed up and paid for a workshop and then need to cancel, we understand that this can be very inconvenient and is rarely through choice. For ease and to reduce administrative work, we prefer people to take a credit for a future workshop rather than being refunded, but should you require the funds rather than a future place, here is our refund policy.

More than 60 days’ notice: We refund all fees paid other than the non-refundable deposit which is £10 for any one day course, £60 for courses up to one-week in duration and £100 for any courses with a duration over one week.

21-60 days’ notice: 50% refund or credit against a future workshop.

14-21 days’ notice: 30% refund or credit for a future workshop.

Less than 14 days’ notice: No refund or credit for a future workshop is possible if cancelling.

If we can fill your place:

Regardless of how much notice is given, if your place can be filled by someone on our waiting list, you will receive all fees paid other than the non-refundable deposit (£10/£60/£100). We would always prefer to offer this and will always do our best to fill a cancelled space but please note it is not always possible.

Can I stay at Makers’ House?

We have rooms at the house but we usually reserve these for visiting tutors but St Leonard’s have a wealth of local businesses who can host you. Two are within 1 minute of the house - Tower House and The Knowle. We also can recommend The Old Rectory.

There are also some local residents who enjoy hosting visitors for a reasonable fee. For more details please email

-

Is there parking?

There is free on-street parking around the house. We do ask that visitors be very mindful of our neighbours - please don’t block their driveways.
