Revitalise your creative vision and learn to make films that feel vibrant, intimate, and alive.
Award-winning filmmaker Rebecca E Marshall leads two special filmmaking workshops in personal, poetic filmmaking.
Do you know that you have the tools to create incredible, compelling cinema right in your pocket? Using just the technology hidden within your mobile phone, we’ll explore how to create vibrant, intimate moments of storytelling.
WORKSHOP 1: Tabletop Cinema Love Lab
Rebecca says -
‘On Valentine’s Day we will explore ideas of LOVE: What message would you like to send to the future about your experience of LOVE from the heart of your everyday?
We will build miniature sets in a tabletop box using props and lights — gathering, arranging and lighting personal objects. Using our phone’s camera, we will make short film-poems, layering image, sound, music and words.
Please bring your own objects or found items to film: Photos, words, fabrics or small objects are all fabulous (Rebecca will also bring some unusual objects and props to play with). We will conclude by writing and recording a poetic voice-over to complete your film.’
Participants do not need any previous filmmaking experience.
The workshop will take place at Makers’ House Hastings on Saturday 14 February, 2pm-5pm.
